Man Boy Brown is the solo project of Raul Pacheco, vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of the three-time Grammy-winning Los Angeles band Ozomatli. After three decades with the groundbreaking multicultural group, Pacheco embarks on a new creative journey, embracing a more personal and intimate musical identity. His debut solo album draws from romantic Latin ballads, Mexican corridos, vintage soul, and classic rock, blending these influences into a sound that is both nostalgic and distinctly his own.

Inspired by the music of his childhood in East Los Angeles and a lifetime of experiences on the road, Man Boy Brown explores themes of love, independence, self-discovery, and the enduring spirit of youth. From the heartfelt reflection of “Moving On” to the romantic nostalgia of “Dulce Cancion” and the infectious grooves of “Golden Ride,” Pacheco delivers a collection of songs that balances emotional depth with playful experimentation. Sparse, melodic arrangements allow his warm baritone and thoughtful songwriting to take center stage.

Dividing his time between his hometown of Boyle Heights and New Mexico, Pacheco continues to perform with Ozomatli while carving out a new artistic path. Man Boy Brown represents both a celebration of where he’s been and an embrace of what’s still to come—a musician reconnecting with his roots while refusing to stand still. As Pacheco puts it, “I feel like I haven’t peaked yet… The best is yet to come.”
